Two women and two babies embark on a journey to learn from women who rise up to the challenges of a modern world. On a roadtrip travelling over 2,000kms in five days, from Geelong to the Sunshine Coast, entrepreneurs Jess Jones and Bridget Wood were inspired, challenged and ultimately empowered by their crazy adventure and the women they connected with, and interviewed, on the road - from booming regional country centres, to thriving coastal spots, these are women living lives by design, willing to believe in their dreams, and seeing the challenges as part of the grand plan of life.
Melanie Gleeson, Founder, Endota Spa
My vision and passion was, and still is, is to help women be their best, so they can live their best life. The ethos of the brand was fueled by my personal belief in the power of positive sharing and a desire for more meaningful connections. 17 years ago a friend and I saw a gap in the market and opened our first day spa on the Mornington Peninsula at a time when few people even knew what a spa was and even fewer recognised the importance of investing in wellbeing. endota spa is a place where women feel cared for on a physical, spiritual and
emotional level. There are now over 90 day spas across Australia.
Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula where I grew up, was the inspiration for endota spa, it is a place of light, expanse and stunning natural beauty. Inspired by the energising properties of the sun, the grounding nature of the earth and the calming effect of water, every endota spa aims to transport clients to a similarly euphoric interior space. One that ignites calm, invites relaxation and rejuvenates the spirit. endota is an indigenous word meaning
beautiful and that beauty is realised the moment a client works through the door. They are
surrounded by serenity, they are greeted by our signature scent, they are encouraged to shed their outer layers and their stress. It’s not a physical beauty so much as a felt one.
The values I built the business on were Balance, Connect, Intent and Truth. I believe in cause and effect and that there must be balance with nature and humanity within our own relationships. We need to connect with the community, with each other and importantly with our own needs. We must act with mindfulness in what we do. Our intention is to be transparent and honest whilst respecting ourselves and the environment.
I also believe in truthfulness . We want women to be their best and find what their truth is, I believe everyone has a spark inside them that is waiting to be ignited.
Our role is to deliver exceptional customer service in an environment where women don’t feel judged. Our spas are a haven for women to replenish their souls, a place where women can leave their concerns, their stresses and their ‘stuff’ at the door and simply have some me time. It’s an opportunity to step out of the real world for a time, into a world where the only person who matters is you.
This is why I do what I do. And why, all those years
ago, I opened the first endota spa.
