THE FREEDOM TO MARRY is the nail-biting behind-the-scenes story of the architects of this historic civil rights movement and the brilliant, nerve-wracking campaign to win same sex marriage throughout the United States. Where do we stand here in Australia? Be part of this inspiring and thought-provoking film & conversation event and explore one of the biggest issues of our time.
THE FREEDOM TO MARRY follows Evan Wolfson, the architect the movement, civil rights attorney Mary Bonauto and their key colleagues on this decades long battle, culminating in a dramatic fight at the United States Supreme Court. More than the saga of one movement's history, this is an inspiring tale of how regular people can change the world.
Claire and Steph, The Cofeeding Mums
When Claire and Steph became friends over 15 years ago, they never imagined that in their early twenties the friendship would turn into a deep loving connection. Claire (29) a naturopath and Steph (27) a primary school teacher have been "domestically partnered" for 2.5 years, this was the only way for them to have their relationship recognised legally in Australia. They celebrated their love along with family and friends at their wedding in 2014 but continue to hold out hope that one day they will be legally married in Australia. They live in Elwood with their 4 month old daughter LJ, dog Daisy and cat Luna.
